Synopsis

The Welding Procedures & Welders Qualifications- Basic (WE0602-1) provides an overview of the ASME Section IX- Qualification Standard for Welding. At the completion of this training the participant will be able to understand the essential and non-essential variables included in the WPS, PQR’s & WPQ’s, and develop those documents for GTAW welding process. The course is filled with practical exercises and real scenarios, to help participants develop a hands-on understanding of one of the most used standards on the welding industry

Learning Objectives

  1. Understand the use and interpretation of the ASME Code Section IX – Welding Qualifications (brazing & plastic fusing will not be covered)
  2. Learn to prepare a WPS, PQR and WPQ forms
  3.  Understand how the ASME Section IX interacts with the construction codes, ASME Section VIII Div. 1, ASME B31.1 & B31.3
